PARTICIPATORY RURAL ASSESSMENT - KINNIYA
The Participatory Rural Assessment (PRA) aims to foster relationships between elected officials, local journalists, and CSOs in promoting transparency and accountability in the eastern province of Sri Lanka. The PRA team has prepared a village survey plan and is collecting data based on participatory village surveys.
The goal of the PRA is to engage with the local community and allow them to have an active voice in the development of their own communities. By using a participatory approach, the PRA team seeks to empower the community by involving them in the decision-making process and helping them identify and prioritize their own needs.
The data collected through the village surveys will be used to inform policy decisions and planning processes, with a focus on promoting transparency and accountability among elected officials and other stakeholders. By working together, the PRA team hopes to build trust between local communities and those in positions of power, leading to more effective and sustainable development outcomes.
