EMERGENCY RELIEF PROGRAM FOR AFFECTED PEOPLE
In an effort to provide relief to vulnerable communities in the region, the AHAM Humanitarian Resource center (AHRC) carried out a relief work operation in the Kadatkaraichenai village at around 8:00 am. The initiative was a collaborative effort between the AHRC, the Village Development Association, the Woman Village Development Association, and civil activists.
Initially, 25 people belonging to the villages of Kataparichan and Kadatsenai were provided with relief materials. Following this, 200 people from 13 villages including Iralkuzhi, Jinnanagar, Pattithidal, Marudanagar, Munnampodivedai, Srinarayanapuram, Kumarapuram, Vattavan, Mavadichenai, Senaiyur, Peramaduva, Arafanagar, and Alangeni were given 10 Kg of rice and 2 bars of soap each.
The selection of people for the relief work was carried out by the Village Development Association, Woman Village Development Association, and civil activists. Families who were economically affected, women-headed households, and those who were affected by a lack of wage labor were prioritized for assistance.
The AHRC's relief work operation has provided essential support to communities affected by various crises in the region. By working in collaboration with local organizations and community leaders, the AHRC has been able to identify and prioritize the needs of the most vulnerable individuals and families. The initiative has helped to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the pandemic and other crises and promote resilience in the face of adversity.
