INSPECTION OF LIVELIHOOD AND DRY RATION BENEFICIARIES

The AHRC conducted monitoring and inspection of livelihood and dry ration beneficiaries from the 5th to the 7th of this month. Our field officers inspected 52 livelihood beneficiaries in the Divisional Secretariat Divisions of Morawewa, Kuchchaveli, Kandalai, Seruvila, Verukal, Muttur, Kinniya, and Trincomalee, as well as 100 dry ration beneficiaries in Morawewa, Kuchchaveli, and Kandalai.

During the inspection, it was observed that many beneficiaries were aware of the proper use of the provisions provided. However, it was also found that many families in the area are still struggling to meet even their basic needs due to the ongoing tragedy in the villages.

PROVISION OF FOOD SECURITY LIVELIHOOD SUPPORT

Today (30.04.2023) A.H.R.C conducted a humanitarian aid support for six sustainable livelihood beneficiaries of Pankulam Division. 

 

Agriculture Promotion Equipment (AHRC) was distributed

On April 11, 2023, the AHAM Humanitarian Resource Center distributed Agriculture Promotion Equipment to 26 farmers in Muthur Kinniya Veruhal Divisional Secretariat Division in Trincomalee District. The equipment was provided to support sustainable food needs and create a sustainable livelihood for farming families who are experiencing a loss of daily income due to the current economic recession.

The event was attended by the Kinniya Divisional Secretary, Muthur Divisional Secretary, Veruhal Divisional Secretary, AHRC Coordinator, Deputy Coordinator, Assistant Accountant, Program Coordinators, and the Secretary and members of Veruhal Divisional Civil Activist Network.

It is important to note that similar events have taken place in the past, where agricultural equipment and seed grains were provided to farmers in the Divisional Secretariat Division of Kanthalai Morawewa Kuchaveli.

 

Muthur Muslim Women's Network implementation and Iftar event

On April 10th, 2023, the Muthur Muslim Women's Network held an implementation and Iftar event at the Muthur District Secretariat Auditorium. The event was organized by 170 women from the network and aimed to promote harmony and personal development among Muslim women.

Various dignitaries and representatives were in attendance, including the Mudur Divisional Secretary, Assistant Project Director, Women Development Officers, Women and Child Protection Police, Clergy, and Administrative representatives of Divisional Civil Activist Network for Moravewa, Tambalagamam, and Trincomalee Town and Gravets Divisional Secretariat Divisions.

It's worth noting that the event was sponsored and organized by AHRC.

 

Provision of humanitarian aid (08.04.2023)

Today (08.04.2023), the third phase of distributing dry food packs worth Rs. 10,000 each was carried out to 9 pre-selected beneficiaries from Venrasapura, Pathyagama, and Kandalava villages under the Kandadai Divisional Secretariat Division as part of the provision of humanitarian aid.
