WORKSHOP ON DIGITAL MEDIA AND REPORTING & DOCUMENTATION

Under the program "Developing a forum for democratic actors," the AHRC (AHAM Humanitarian Resource Center) organized a two-day training course on Digital Media and Reporting & Documentation. The course was specifically designed for Pradeshiya Sabha officers, journalists, and representatives of civil society organizations from Trincomalee and Batticaloa. It took place at a private hotel in Trincomalee on June 9th and 10th, 2023.

The training course aimed to equip participants with essential skills and knowledge in utilizing digital media platforms effectively, as well as enhancing their reporting and documentation abilities. This initiative was undertaken to empower individuals involved in democratic processes, enabling them to play a more active role in promoting transparency, accountability, and public engagement.

On the final day of the training course, June 10th, 2023, a certificate giving event was organized to recognize the participants who successfully completed the training. This event served as a platform to acknowledge their commitment and achievements in acquiring valuable skills that can contribute to their professional growth and effectiveness in their respective roles.

By providing this training course and conducting the certificate giving event, the AHRC demonstrated its commitment to capacity building and empowering individuals within democratic institutions, journalism, and civil society organizations. The program aimed to create a forum for democratic actors to enhance their skills and foster a more informed and participatory democratic environment in Trincomalee.
