WORKSHOP ON BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS FOR SINHALA YOUTH

WORKSHOP ON BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS FOR SINHALA YOUTH

The AHAM Humanitarian Resource Center (AHRC) organized two impactful workshops centered around the theme of Basic Human Rights, Reconciliation, and Social Communication specifically designed for Sinhalese youth. These workshops served as platforms for empowering and enlightening the younger generation on fundamental human rights principles and fostering a culture of understanding and harmony.

The first workshop was held on June 23, 2023, at the esteemed Morawewa Regional Secretariat Cultural Hall. It was a vibrant gathering that brought together Sinhalese youth eager to learn and grow. Alongside them, our dedicated company officers actively participated, emphasizing the significance of this event. The presence of Isaideen, the Coordinator of the Sri Lankan Human Rights Commission - Eastern Province, added immense value to the workshop. With his expertise and deep understanding of human rights, Isaideen passionately delivered a comprehensive explanation, illuminating the audience on the importance of upholding and protecting these fundamental rights.

Building on the success of the first workshop, the second workshop took place on June 24, 2023, in the Kandalai Region. This event specifically catered to the Sinhalese youth residing in the region, providing them with an invaluable opportunity to delve into the realm of human rights. With the aim of fostering greater awareness and empathy, the workshop explored themes of reconciliation and social communication alongside the core principles of human rights. Isaideen's participation in this event as a resource person was highly anticipated and greatly appreciated. He delivered an insightful and thought-provoking presentation, shedding light on the various dimensions of human rights and their relevance in our daily lives.

Both workshops served as transformative experiences for the participants, leaving a lasting impact on their understanding and appreciation of human rights. By equipping the Sinhalese youth with knowledge and awareness, these workshops aimed to empower them to become advocates for justice, equality, and harmony within their communities. The AHRC, along with its dedicated partners and collaborators, remains committed to fostering a society where human rights are upheld, reconciliation is prioritized, and social communication bridges the gaps that exist within our diverse society.
