HUMAN RIGHT WORKSHOP FOR VILLAGE LEVEL CBOs

Marking the inauguration of AHRC's Strengthening of Traditional Village Level Organizations Program, the inaugural training workshop focusing on human rights and associated legislation took place this Tuesday, the 8th of August 2023. The venue for this informative gathering was the Miani Discussion Hall, Batticaloa. The workshop welcomed representatives hailing from village level organizations within the administrative purviews of Vaharai, Vaunatheevu, and Kiran Divisional Secretariats.

On this significant occasion, Mr. Isaideen, the Commissioner of the Human Rights Commission for Trincomalee and Batticaloa District, played a pivotal role as the designated resource person. His contribution encompassed a comprehensive presentation on human rights, serving to enlighten and engage the attendees. This workshop stands as an important milestone within the context of fostering the Strengthening of Traditional Village Level Organizations Program initiated by AHRC.
